Did the Great Wall of China Work? No. Great tourist attraction, though.

How about the Berlin Wall? If America wants a 2,000 mile border wall with Mexico, how many guard towers will it need to be as effective as the Berlin Wall? How many machine guns?

I submit it’ll be as supremely effective as the Maginot Line. (Look it up, I’ll wait;-)

Yes, it’s Democrats like Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan who’ve been running Congress for the last few years and prevented the border wall from even being voted on. So all that money Mexico has coughed up to pay for it is going to waste,

Gary Scrooge was an individual. When the Ds reject your hateful call for a wall they are listening to the people who voted for them. Its analogous to your reps calling for an end to the ACA because you hate health insurance and want to pay out of pocket for every injury. Or when you vote for your reps to damage medicaid/medicare/social security because you want sick, old, and poor people to die. You know….being a “good christian”.

    " …

The estimated number of undocumented immigrants living in the USA reached a 12-year low in 2016, continuing a decade-long decline in which that population fell from a high of 12.2 million in 2007 to 10.7 million in 2016, according to a report released Tuesday.

Researchers from the Pew Research Center, which conducted the analysis, said economics played a major role in that fall. The Great Recession wiped out millions of jobs that attracted undocumented immigrants to the USA, while the Mexican economy steadily improved, giving Mexicans more reasons to stay in their country.

The call to build a wall is out of fear of unknown hazard to our citizens. Meanwhile the very well known condition of our infrastructure endangers all of us yet receives, at best, lip service. Posturing over priorities is flat wrong.

Has anyone supporting the wall idea ever looked at the border on Google Earth? There’s no way a wall could be built in many places yet still allow someone to walk through.

Up above folks compare Trump’s Wall to the Great Wall of China and the Berlin Wall.

A better comparison is Trump’s Wall and the wall between Palestine and Israel. A wall built from fear, ignorance and hate. The Palestine border wall is a symbol of prejudice, power and control.

Yes, building a physical wall between you and the people you fear and hate may seem like a logical step. But the thing is it stops people from talking to each other. It puts one group in power over the other. It puts one group in control. People should not be in control or in power of other people.

Not even if we are those other people. I am not anti-Israel but they are wrong here. We do not want to become Israel.

Wish I could say this was the dumbest cartoon I’ve ever seen.

As Pelosi pointed out to idiot Trump, the Republicans are in control and they with held the funds for the wall.

Ladders and tunnels, and low-flying aircraft, boaters who cruise ports of call, these are a few of my favorite ways ’round the wall.

Apparently, Varvel thinks the ‘true Spirit of Christmas’ calls for separating immigrant children from their parents { who should have ‘known better’ than to try to escape deadly violence at home } and helping Saudi Arabia destroy Yemen. Because ‘Democrats don’t cherish America First!’

Apparently, Varvel thinks the Democrats currently hold the majority in Congress and have total control over this.

Sorry Varvel, but the Elephants still control the purse strings and will be responsible for the shutdown.

The true hilarity of this cartoon is that Varvel is portraying the Democratic Party as being rich skinflints hoarding their money. I cannot recall in my lifetime any Republican portraying Democrats in that manner. I guess Varvel is trying that old scam of portraying your opponent as being what you are.

The reality is that liberals tend to be the embodiment of Dickens’ Spirits, warning of the effects of caring only about oneself and ones riches and positions. “Are there no prisons, are there no workhouses?” is hardly the attitude of liberal thinking, whether in the age of Dickens or the present.

Varvel, YOUR GUY told us repeatedly that “MEXICO will pay for the wall!”

    YOU believe him, don’t you?

After all, he is the greatest negotiator in human history, isn’t he?

Why would Democrats even be in the picture?

Watching the Orange man bargaining with Pelosi and Schumer showed me why tRump has gone bankrupt so many times. He owes his survival to a personality with no care for others which makes it easy for him to lie and steal from everyone.

The wall is an example of the Rump’s and his followers simplistic view of how to solve problems.

Have they actually calculated the cost of the material, labor, maintenance, land, and the roads that will have to be built in order to access the wall? It would come to trillions of dollars.

If 45’s Wall is supposed to be for border security then they should use the already inflated defense budget to pay for it.
