Yes. He was driving the train. His work CAME BEFORE the economic boom. That’s how it works. Things that happen in the past lay the ground work for things in the present.

But that’s just dumb ol’ reality. Down with reality! Vote un-reality in November! Cuz it’s working out so great since 2016! /s

Obama truly inherited an economy in shambles when he became president , but oversaw a magnificent recovery without compromising on environmental and consumer safeguards. Trump inherited a thriving economy when he was elected, but immediately chose to do away with regulations protecting the environment and consumers. The economy is still going strong but the long term and medium term effects of his actions are going to be devastating. Payne’s drawings do not reflect reality because they are driven only by a deep hatred of Obama, not by any rational understanding of the state of affairs. The reason Payne hates Obama is the same reason he hates Serena Williams – skin color.

Why do Henry and the other Trump Disciples have to LIE about every issue?

Yes, before trump took office 90,000,000 people were without work according to Trumpskeeters. On Jan 20 2017, they all got a job according to the same Trumpskeeters.

These cartoons — not just Payne’s — are so confusing.

While I have seen a number of commenters and even commentators claiming that current economic benefits are a result of Obama’s economic policies, I haven’t seen anything in the news about Obama himself saying so. Yet several cartoonists (all “conservative”, as far as I can tell) seem to be implying that Obama himself has made that claim.

Have I missed something, or are those cartoons engaged in deliberate deception?

The failing Henry Payne. Soon to have a job as cashier at a convenience store for $8.50 an hour, part time, no insurance-but hey, still figured into the employment numbers.

^ How about ‘retrieving carts from the parking lot’ at a big box supermarket?

An even bigger question is why does the Detroit News still publish Payne? They used to have journalistic standards.

Don’t put words in his mouth. He got that train moving in the first place. The numbers speak for themselves. He’s one of the best presidents that we’ll ever have.

He’s not driving the economic train - he pretty much built it :) or at least the track it’s running on.

Nothing less than I would expect from Payne. Some people have blinders on for the left and some for the right. Payne only listens to things on one side.Thank goodness that I don’t have to pay for the Detroit News/Free Press any longer. This nonsense should always be free!
