Funny, the Atlantic has had almost no hurricanes this year. It is has been too cold and the wind was wrong. Been VERY quiet.
However the Pacific has been busy. Looking forward to the end of hurricane season in the Pacific side, they were more active than normal.
That is how I view summer… and no. I do not work for the weather service. I was a truck driver for a few decades and weather directly affected my work. Sometimes more than others.
After 4 months of the worst summer ever of upper 80s and 90s, of dying flowers, of struggling trees, of dead grass……………bring on the cold weather. We all feel sapped.
I’m confused Nate what’s there to love about Summer ? First it’s the height of Hurricane Season and with record high temps we have had the worst fire season yet. Not to mention football season is gearing up with the new fall tv season and best of all kids go back to school
I, too, am on Nate’s side here. Can’t we just hang on to summer a little longer? Or at least have a decent fall, skip winter, and go right to spring? Wishful thinking, I know …

September is a very nice month — plenty warm enough for outdoor activities (especially this year), but usually without the blazing heat.
The pirates need to be introduced to tailgating. Tailgating is an excuse to use the grill all the way into January.
