How many rounds of championship playoffs can a 12-team ‘top flight’ league have?
And that’s where the big money is for a Super-Conference.
Even cutting that down from 80 to 32 teams (a la the NFL), you’d end up with 6-6, 7-5 “playoff teams” in a 16-team playoff field.
(But who are we kidding, if they get ‘free’ of the NCAA, the new lords of college football will jack it up to an 18 or 20 game regular season schedule.)
I misremembered a song lyric as ‘forever and a day’… the song being “Captain of Her Heart” by a group called Double, the actual lyric being ‘not only for a day’.
Oh, well.
Speaking of blowing it, someone on the tweeter pointed out that the 4/25/73 GA classic strip doesn’t open up to full size when clicked on. So I went ahead and did a re-post which seems to be working fine.
(Thanks for pointing that out to me, and don’t hesitate to give a shout when there’s an apparent error.)

So to recap, there now four posts that make up a three-part classics update for the 25th, which went up Thursday evening … and the tranche for Friday the 26th, I’m hoping to get something up by this coming afternoon.
Louie looks very comfy up there on the bed, but I have to wonder about Pirates who work for an hourly rate, rather than divvying up proceeds from the latest raid.
Maybe Nate is asking for a bigger cut, considering the crew has been downsized over the years, hehe.
And the dead are grateful for it!
