We’re losing more today to guns in the US than we did in ’Nam, every 2 to 3 years. Time for some rational change, like not having the same weapons as in ’Nam out on our streets, with even bigger magazines than we had in ’Nam!!

Let’s make a deal – behind door # 1 pols that take blood money get no votes. Door # 2 gun reform. Door # 3 Ongoing student strikes to cripple school funding until you pick door # 2.

How about everyone who turns 18 before Nov. register and vote the Republicans out. Yes, very partisan comment, but the main source of the trouble is a national political party that’s lost its collective mind to prion disease.

The mean spiritedness of our current society where partisanship and inequity nurture the angry, disrespected, suicidal young man to take out others in his final act of revenge on the society that offended him, needs our attention. How much longer are going to ignore this? It won’t always be “other people’s kids” getting shot.

What’s REALLY disgusting is the number of people who are more concerned about their rapid fire penis extensions then they are about the lives of their children!

NRA and Republicans are complicit in mass murder of school children.

They have blocked all reasonable gun laws and prevented the ATF to computerize to track stolen guns.

Both the NRA and GOP have taken money from the Russians.

The kids face their own Vietnam with the ultra liberal gun laws the right has created to protect the arms industry.

3% of the people own 50% of the guns, stop letting this tiny minority terrorize America.

Ban the AR-15, boycott the NRA, do not vote for gun extremists.

Why is it that progressive rights are more important than anyone else’s rights?BTW, the NRA was formed to protect the rights of people from from the democrats who were the party of slavery!Instead of blaming a tool why not go after progressive policies that are actually causing most if the problems in this country.

I applaud what the students are trying to accomplish! I just hope they ‘stick’ with it! Americans are not known for their tenacity in sticking to ANY issue. There were many ‘stops’ & ‘starts’ the the anti-Vietnamese conflict – keep in mind that, if the young man depicted was a Senior in high school when he took up the banner against L.B.J. he would have been married, become a father, and that child would have ALREADY started school by the time Tricky Dick FINALLY stopped the conflict!

I strongly agree with everything Radish, keltii, Petey, and Tired said above. How about we set a good example by boycotting the trolls that bait us each and every day? At least reply to them in a separate post if you have no self-control. Please.

@ANTIQUETRATMAN, if you are so Pro-Life, why are you fighting the children who are no longer in the womb and who are afraid for their lives when they go to School or the mall or a concert or a movie because of assault weapons that are legal according to the NRA?? The NRA is espouses violence to the lives of those young children simply because they can make more money from the gun manufacturers by impeding gun control measures that would take AR-15s off the market. If you are pro-life, really pro-life, you should be out there marching with those children today!!!!!!!

Keep abortion legal, stop killing school children, or otherwise

All in all, you’re just another brick in Trump’s wall.

History suggests that LBJ was trying harder to stop the killing than I knew when I carried a sign but I am damn sure that the NRA is to blame for the deaths of thousands of Americans through the propaganda they have pushed for the last 50 years. Every kid any day killed by a gun is dead because of the NRA and its sale promotions and policies wrapped in the Second Amendment.

ANOTHER fact that Antiquetracman has neglected to mention in his rant is the FACT that the number of Abortions in the U.U. peaked in 1990, under Poppy Bush, a REPUBLICAN, and has been DROPPING ever since.

We have met the enemy, and IT is US! Americans have killed more Americans than all enemies that we have faced since 1775; and this does NOT include gun-related homicides prior to 1968. (The year was selected relative to Bobby Kennedy, and the civil war is attributed to war deaths, and not homeland deaths)

    http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2015/aug/27/nicholas-kristof/more-americans-killed-guns-1968-all-wars-says-colu/

Quoting: “So the statistic still holds up: There have been 1,516,863 gun-related deaths since 1968, compared to 1,396,733 cumulative war deaths since the American Revolution. That’s 120,130 more gun deaths than war deaths — about 9 percent more, or nearly four typical years worth of gun deaths. And that’s using the most generous scholarly estimate of Civil War deaths, the biggest component of American war deaths.”

We are the only country self-centered enough to let this happen, and the rest of the world community knows it…

This is lame. There were citizen’s protest movements before the 1960s, and they have not stopped since the 1960s. I’m really tired of the trope that anyone who does a public action is on a nostalgia trip.

If you Americans had decent Sex Ed in your schools, abortion rates would drop about 90%. But Conservatives would never allow that as then they would lose an election issue.

I was there yesterday and here is my impression:

I am a child of the 60’s and I am now in my 60’s and I am proud of the accomplishments of my generation. Dr. Martin Luther King’s Dream is close to a reality and women have become almost equal citizens. We were like a championship team, winning victory after victory. Then we abandoned the game. Complacency became the reigning champion.

“Al that evil needs to succeed is that good men do nothing.” We did nothing.

I was impressed by the size of the March. It was packed for well more than a mile of people standing like sardines in a tin: a solid wall of humanity.

I was impressed by the composition of the crowd. It represented every ethnic group imaginable, churches of all denominations, ages from newborn to geriatric, veterans’ groups, LGBT groups, teachers’ groups and even registered nurses groups – All out there, not for their agendas, but for a purpose bigger than their own individual causes. In a world that has become increasingly divided by causes and ideologies, I was encouraged to see unity, but saddened when realizing that this unity was purchased with the lives of innocent people.

I was impressed by the eloquence of the speakers, some as young as 11 years old; who experienced something I didn’t in all my military experience as an adult: hold hands with a dying comrade or look up the barrel of an automatic weapon of a deranged gunman.

I was impressed by the content of their messages: Register, educate, vote. Those who mock them stating that “Children should not be running the government” take heed. Many of these “children” are already registered to vote, many more will be voting in two to four more years and they all have parents and other loved ones. The days The days are numbered for “business as usual” on the Potomac.

I am a child of the 60’s and I am in my 60’s and we are back: only it is a new “we.” As JFK remarked, “The torch has been passed to a new generation.” They have picked it up, I am grateful.

A hand gun is an appropriate weapon for self-defense. A rifle is an appropriate weapon for hunting. An AR-15 is an appropriate weapon for mass murder. It is the only purpose for the weapon. I do not want to take your arms away from you unless you are a mass murderer. Mass murder is NOT a constitutional right.

On average 96 people killed a day. Seven of them are children – so SEVEN – the NRA killed 7 kids today.

I am thoroughly enjoying how all the conservative media and talking heads are sliming the young folk, calling them stupid and brainless, totally oblivious to the fact that the kids will grow up and then vote. And they shall have long memories. The Republican Party is dead.
