Damn shame that the people who this is directed at would have no clue as to what it even means. I always think that it’s a shame when the cartoonist knows that it is necessary to add the “Diogenes” at the bottom.
He used his simple life-style and behavior to criticize the social values and institutions of what he saw as a corrupt, confused society. Diogenes made a virtue of poverty. He begged for a living and often slept in a large ceramic jar in the marketplace.4 He became notorious for his philosophical stunts, such as carrying a lamp during the day, claiming to be looking for an honest man.
