Maybe Sophie would be happier living with the Kleins? Everything inside would be outside. No need to bottle up her barks then.

Reminds me of a house with a low chain link fence I used to walk by. The small dog inside would run up to the fence and bark ferociously at me until I was past his yard. One day I saw the gate was open and wondered what he’d do. Well, he barked away UNTIL I got to the gate. Then he shut up until I was past the gate and started barking at me again.

My corgi barks at all loud noises, both inside and out. When the dogs are sleeping in the laundry room, our master bath is just on the other side of the wall; whenever one of us talks or makes a sound it is loud in the laundry room.

Unless the inside noise could be construed as a knock. My father continues to knock on the table as he makes his point a few times a year and my 9 y/o dog goes nuts, barking at both doors since she couldn’t tell which it was, and continuing as he tries to show her that it was him, making her more excited
