Nailed it! For Sessions, “states’ rights” only applies to racism, as indeed it always did for the Confederates. God forbid it should be used for anything else.
I can’t wait for the big blues to get around the elimination of deductibility for their local taxes by setting up non-profits, or better yet churches, to fund themselves. Starve the beast.
Sessions is trying to roll back the clock – California is in the present and doesn’t want to go backwards. So Sessions is suing California over it’s immigration policies – He was named after two Confederates, and talks about California seceding. The alarmist and hyperbolic rhetoric from this administration has always been the Trump administration’s thing – and Sessions has fired the first shots as California refused to help ICE agents do their jobs.
Undocumented immigrants are not escaped slaves, subject to the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, which conscripted free states into the practice of rounding up those black folks who had escaped their kidnappers. Trump and Sessions seem to want to subject immigrants to similar fears. California is saying NO, and as it fights this lawsuit, other states will receive a powerful example of how to respond when this president and his administration tell them to behave.
Coal, what I have noticed is, the number of conservative/gop/right wing/regressive’s making comments on this site has dropped to almost nothing. And one can only repeat tweets as they have nothing to say.

Just remember, “Session” is an idiot, just like his boss, Cadet Bonespurs Dumpsterfire himself.

If Texas and California want to secede, allow them to do so. The remaining 48 states can the kick Florida out of the Union.
