My name comes from someone in the Old Testament as well as another but different someone in the Book of Mormon. Both were prophets.
It is a book (Kotzwinkle), but it was a movie first.

To what end?
Watch or read it yourself. No spoilers!
Confuse him and call him E. T. S. Elliot.
To what end was he named Elliot?
I suppose it’s good for everything to have a name.
I mean, it helps distinguish something from all the other things in the room.
Otherwise, we’d be all like “Answer the thing, OK? It’s ringing.” “Are you going to eat the thing, or just the other thing?”
“The thing needs a nap.”
Yeah, yeah…. you could say “the baby”…
but that’s weird by the time they get married and have their own babies.
So I recommend naming them.
And having words for other stuff, like… pencils, and peanut butter sandwiches and …um…. I dunno…. keys, maybe.
Or did you mean, like, which end?
Cos I think the name is for all of him….
but you usually talk to the top half.
Now all you have to do is get him to phone home occasionally.
I guess when he was born he look alien to them.
I think of Elliot as some sort of spaced cadet.
We misspelled idiot.
They misspelled ‘Elliott’!
