Careful about concerts, bars, or malls as well. NRA wants us all on our toes, all the time, it sells guns, more guns. Regulation, as REQUIRED by the Second Amendment, as Scalia spelled out, is NOT confiscation, it’s just common sense that Congress won’t risk their incomes to use.

Don’t forget theaters. There’s more than convenience to explain the rise of Netflix.

Domestic terrorism. The NRA is promoting home-grown domestic terrorism.

Opioid crisis has been going on for a long time and there are too many people placing a;; blame on those who got addicted rather than the doctors who took the massive bribes from the drug companies to push the opioids. Sessions tells people “just take an aspirin”.

Gun violence using the AR-15 and similar guns are rising at an alarming rate yet no one wants to ban them. Congress couldn’t even pass a ban on “bump stocks” after the Vegas shooting. Pointing fingers at mental health while defunding ACA which provides coverage for mental illness is pointless. In this instance,, there were signs that this guy was a problem, but in the majority of cases people describe the criminal as “a good neighbor”. “quiet, kept to himself” or some are even the “nicest guy in the neighborhood”. Mental illness is often difficult to recognize, but the link between the rise of shootings and the expiration of the assault weapons ban is pretty clear.

Arming teachers and students is not the answer, as some have said. However, in this climate, it is time to consider compensating families of teachers who have fallen in line of duty. Fallen soldier families receive $100,000. Fallen teacher families receive 0. Teachers today are asked to take a bullet to protect their students.

Why go outside? It’s a Republican government, they take away healthcare and make guns easier to get. Take away programs from the poor and make jobs harder to get.

And don’t forget churches, either. I’m not sure what’s the saddest part of today’s cartoon; the mother’s fear of losing her child or the child’s youthful confidence that such a thing could never happen to him. I wonder if the surviving families of the victims of these tragedies take comfort in the knowledge that “guns don’t kill people.”

Sure. And “nice” means “pleasant-natured” today. But it meant “accurate” in the 14th century. Similarly, the general meaning of “regulated” was “able to do the job to a satisfactory standard” in the 18th century.

The “Regulator” brand of clock did not mean “controlled from the outside”, it meant it was so accurate that it could be used as the clock by which other clocks were set each day.

“Relax mom, I’m just going to school, I’m just three times more likely to be killed by a drunk driver… eight times more likely to die of the flu… but those aren’t sensational enough to make the national news so don’t worry!“
