Kelly was supposed to be the voice of sanity but I believe the corrosive environment he works in has rotted his mind.

Y’know? Trump is everything that conservatives and Republicans loathe! Cuddling up to the Russians, draft-dodger, total lack of family values …. Except for one thing! Just ONE! Lower taxes for the rich. Oh, and yeah, he has an R after his name now.

So, as long as he could do his job (to some degree without a proper security clearance), and was nice to them, the fact that he beat his wives was just a domestic matter, none of their business.

Okay Mr. President one more tweet, then you have to stop. Okay, one more punch, but then you really have to stop. Kelly has no control over this chaos, or he is complicit in it.

Kelly wasn’t around for the infamous round-the-table-kiss-Trump’s-azz debacle engaged in by his cabinet—but now I wonder if he wishes that he’d actually been there. Truly pathetic people coddling a legendarily pathetic person!

Only when definitive histories of this time are written will we know the truth of what went on inside this White House, and who played what part in it. I at least believe that Mr. Kelly is a basically honorable man, albeit with many views I do not share. I believe he has taken on this job out of a sense of patriotic duty to attempt to bring order out of the chaos that preceded him. It’s an almost impossible task, and a thankless one. He has to be mindful that there is one person in the White House to whom he cannot give orders. It just so happens that that person is his biggest source of problems.
