This guy came to Walt for help even though it was supposedly public knowledge that he roughed up those two original “jokesters”, had testified on Heather’s behalf and was shacked up with a pig. Remember, not all wolves are caught up in the protest movement. He claims that he didn’t do anything wrong. Do we know differently?
Typical reversal. He’s there to do no good, but harm; and, when outed, makes his antagonist to be the real villain. He actually believes in his own cause so much that he never stops to question how right it can be if he has to lie to achieve it.
Not sure to feel sorry for the wolf – but then I recall how they acted with her. So hard to be, since he would not have a gun if he wasn´t part of the riot.
“Bastard” is what people call those who betray them. The wolf may have truly thought Walt would help him, if Walt has the reputation of being fair and unprejudiced. After seeing that the rats actually are trying to kill wolves, he might be questioning his judgment right now.
What endtown needs is two things from external forces. They need leaders in good people who are willing to do bad things in getting the situation under initial control. THEN, they need a way to strip away people’s motivations and genuinely discern who’s bull-shit and who’s willing to try and overcome the now open-war. I’ll say it again Arron, it’s time to find Wally!
I think the people still claiming that the wolf was here to kill Portia need to reread, and to think. In all the other cases where pigs have vanished, they were coerced – phonecalls are what we’ve seen, with the pigs finally cracking and taking some sort of sweet drug or poison that was given to them beforehand. And this continued even as the riots got bad – just a few pages ago we saw that male pig getting the same treatment.
As far as we know, Portia recieved no recent phonecalls (due to moving in with Walt, probably), no drugs (Or she’d undoubtedly have told him) and was never shown to give in and ‘consent’ to her death. This wolf never pointed his gun at Portia or Walt, and was shown to be telling the truth about rats being after him. While the ‘pig loving bastard’ comment is pretty unhelpful, it’s also the words of a betrayed, terrified man about to be gunned down. And Foxworthy’s constant reports of food-shortages had the intended effect of making people resent the pigs, so maybe he feels the insult is justified.
The wolf seemed to me to be truly frightened for his life. It could be he picked a random door by chance, or was at the wrong door at the wrong time. Like Sailor Beef said, his body language was not that of a Bad person getting caught.
I immediately thought that Walt may have a though like, "OMG, he was innocent! And now I have just sent him to his death. On the other hand, I was surprised that most folks thought it showed his guilt.
The plot behind is yet to hit the fan. The wolfes set up and becoming a real threat. This wolf might be hunted down and still up to no good with Portia. Seems like a big mess gordian knot. The conspiracy of fake news about lacking food to highten the stress and stirring the fear against the wolfes will lift somebody to the top who plans to establish a totalitarian police state i am afraid.

So now it’s clear that the wolf wasn’t telling the whole truth. The rats may or may not be hunting all wolves, but they’re certainly hunting this one.
Walt was right, either by reason or instinct, not to trust him under these circumstances.
