To the extent there IS a war on Christmas:

Why was it that retail clerks in every type of store began saying ‘happy holidays’ instead of ‘merry Christmas’ all at the same time?

Do Republicans actually believe that the clerks all decided to do that because some libtards told them to do it?

Would ANYTHING like that happen unless it came from corporate headquarters?

And why did all December office parties (including those at Fox “news”), become ‘holiday parties’ instead of ‘Christmas parties’?

Did all the mid-level managers decide that all at the same time? Or were there decrees from corporate headquarters?

It’s not just that right wing media continually lie about this kind of stuff, it’s that Republicans are stupid enough to believe them. (I would certainly listen to alternative theories).

There are only two things going down during these days … christmas and hannukah – and last one is locked to one segment of a population. So besides “happy holidays” being bland and lifeless, it makes little sense.

Christmas is heresy because Jesus was NOT born in December. He was born in April.

Hanukkah (Jewish)

Christmas Day (Christian)

Omisoka (Japanese)

Yule (Pagan)

Saturnalia (Pagan)

All holidays matter.

They’ve been saying “Happy Holidays” since the 1940s. At least.

Suddenly, the phrase is offensive,

And the people who are so thin-skinned they get offended when someone gives them a friendly holiday greeting but it wasn’t exactly the one they wanted call OTHER people “snowflakes.”

Dear right-wingers: NOBODY is offended by the phrase “Merry Christmas.” Some of us are just aware that not every one we talk to is a Christian, and they might be celebrating something else.

Oh – and Christmas isn’t the month of December. Christmas Season is December 25 to January 6. You don’t see me walking around demanding that everyone say “Blessed Advent,” do you?

What does it mean when you say “Merry Christmas” to a non-Christian? You’re not wishing him what HE wants, you’re wishing him what YOU want. That’s not very gracious.

My Puritan ancestors objected to all holidays as Papist mind control games.

This whole “Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays” argument is, to me at least, a bunch of overblown kerfluffle. What I want to know is when did the general response to “thank you” switch from “you’re welcome” to “no problem”?

Oh, the poor, persecuted white majority! Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill.

Republicans don’t want to clothe or feed the poor or heal the sick, they are anti-Christ.

Republicans want to give rich people and corporations more money.

Matthew 22:21 Jesus said “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s; and to God the things that are God’s.”

Every one of you need to get a life.
