This storyline is taking waaaaayyy too long to develop—it’ll be baseball season before Uncle Gary is sent packing

That’s right, I’m in the concussion business, and I’ve got a delivery for you right here. Apparently, the playdowns are scheduled so the championship game will coincide with the Super Bowl.

P1- Fraud? Wonder if anyone besides Ric heard Gary Unmarried utter that accusation?

P2- All the stress of alleged post concussion syndrome is making Ric’s Milford Monk more prominent.

P3- I smell a one way trip to Carbone Cave for an out of work lawyer.

Are we to believe that Mom is just now learning about the football-concussion connection? How does Rick’s NOT having a concussion move this risk from acceptable to unacceptable? Or does she think both doctors were wrong? Just trying to follow the “logic” here.

Where does one buy one of the commemorative Solar Eclipse of 2017 sweaters featured in P3?

Time to pull out the baseline numbers from pre-season? And time to pull Unk Gary from this strip.

This story could be a lot better if the following dialogue and action occurred: RS: I’ve just about had enough of you…UG: Oh yeah? whadda are you gonna do about it? Your mom wouldn’t like if you don’t show me some respectRS: this is what I’m gonna do, b***h (a$$ kicking commences at this point)

Is Uncle Gary really supposed to think Rick will want him to manage his singing career after all this?

What makes Uncle Butthead so sure Rick will sing his heart out if he can’t play football? I would cut out my tongue first.

I am seriously believing that Uncle Gary is the Mom’s boyfriend. He is just too controlling. If she is that wimpy she needs her husband to come back home.

Mom’s permission should be a moot point by now. Parents have to sign permission slips before practice starts in August, not in December at the end (hopefully) of the season.

Gil and Kaz need to “Gillooly” this jerk.

Why was Uncle Larry allowed in the treatment room anyway? Is he a legal guardian? Or just a family member giving the kid a ride? Is he Mom’s brother, or Dad’s? Because Larry is in desperate need of a kick in the pants.

So Uncle Creepy takes him to a doctor and then accuses her of being a fraud. If she’s a fraud, then why go in the first place? And speaking of first place, today’s Mopped Up Thorp won first place in the “Parodies of Gil Thorp featured in the comments section of GoComics”.

Panel two reminds me of a true Beach Boys story. Early on Murry Wilson (Brian, Carl, and Dennis’ dad – and Mike Love’s uncle) was their manager. He was an old school tyrant. Finally Mike had had enough. After one of their first three or four concerts he finally beat the crap out of his Uncle Murry. Time for Uncle Tonoose to get his lesson.
