I’ve obviously missed something – I wasn’t aware that helping fellow Americans after disaster strikes was on a “quid pro quo” basis – must be a Republican thing, a corollary to the G.O.P. philosophy of, “I’ve got mine, Jack – screw you!”
To sound: Just wait until the meds that you or a friend or family member rely on become scarce. Puerto Rico is (correction: was until the hurricane) the fifth-largest manufacturer of pharmaceuticals on the planet and produces sixteen of the top twenty selling drugs in the mainland United States. So get out with that horse pucky about what Puerto Rico does or doesn’t do. Or better yet, maybe you can start saying that about Florida and Texas and see where that gets you.
