The right wants special privileges for the religious. The constitution grants religious liberty not religious privilege. The supposed oppression brings anguished wails when asked to treat gays and lesbians like any other customer, or religiously motivated pleas for sex-segregated swimming pools. Religious privilege looking for exemptions from laws and regulations that apply to everyone else. The Nuns don’t have to take contraception, nor do they have to remain silent about what they perceive as the evils of contraception. Nor do they have to pay for contraception used by others. But the notion that the government can’t ask them to submit a form confirming their desire to be exempt from a government-mandated health care program expands the concept of religious freedom beyond recognition. The Little Sisters of the Poor already have religious freedom – they are trying to exempt themselves from ordinary responsibilities of civil society, while obstructing their employee’s access to contraception.
Once again, if so-called ‘conservatives’ actually wanted fewer abortions, they would support every effort to get people to use birth control, especially the education part.
They do not.
They are against every effort to get people to use birth control. Because religious freedom.
What they really want is to PUNISH SINNERS by forcing them to have children that result in unwanted pregnancies. They want further punishment by condemning the family — or whatever part — to a life of poverty.
In the case of rape or incest, it was God’s will and anyway, she was probably asking for it.
Rather than being on a mission to impregnate someone with the devil’s spawn, the Satanic Temple is attempting to use the Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby decision to opt out of a law they don’t agree with on the basis of religious conviction.
The Satanic Temple announced on Monday that “informed consent” abortion laws — which require doctors to give state-mandated information that can be inaccurate or misleading to women seeking abortions in an effort to provide a “balanced” perspective — violate the temple’s religious philosophy.
“The Satanic Temple believes that the body is inviolable subject to one’s own will alone,” the group’s website says. “We strive to make all decisions regarding personal health based on the best scientific understanding of the world, regardless of the religious or political beliefs of others.”
The temple published its medical exemption letter online for any woman seeking an abortion in a state that mandates biased counseling to use.

The REAL joke is that for years before the ACA, the group insurance the Little Sisters had included support for contraceptives.

From what I have heard of Nuns, this is a great cartoon showing a hoped for event.
