Where are Trump and the hordes of Republicans, plus the complaisant Democrats, who have been the marching side by side with the Russians? None of this could have happened if Americans 1) weren’t doing it first, and 2) weren’t eagerly conspiring with Russians and anyone else they could find.
As for Facebook and Twitter, corporations (and those who head them up) swear alleigance only to money and power.
Americans need to realize they.. do not have a monopoly on technology.. in fact are likely behind some of the other big players. It is easier to reverse engineer technology to suit your needs than to develop it in the first place. So.. America develops.. and then the other players fix it to work it to their advantage.. And…they are not likely to show their hand till it is too late.
The other Republicans are following Trump in his parade, with brooms and mops, cleaning up the elephant dung. Then again, though, the worm will soon be turning, and Trump will be marching in Putin’s parade, and cleaning up Putin’s dung……….
One of the few things I ever agreed with President Trump about is that we should try to find ways to patch things up with the Russians. (I feel the same way about Iran.) Note, however, that “patch things up with” ≠ “sell out to”.
How do you “patch things up” with a dictatorial oligarchy? You give them whatever they want. Or as trump put it, “Wouldn’t it be great if we had a good relationship with Russia?”

Republicans love Russian hacking, as long as it favors them.

And a big PLUS to Luckovich for telling it like it is about the Russians too.
