    Good morning Vagabonds.

Today is going to be another great day with temp about 80.

Cleaned up most of the garden. Still have quite a few tomatoes to ripen and peppers still growing.

Yard is not to bad looking until the leaves come down So I guess I’ll have to do something indoors for now.

May you all have a good day.

    Good morning Vagabonds

It’s Monday again, but I’m not Garfield Mondays are fine by me.

Fog down in the village, but Gary is talking of triple H weather for the next few days.

How are things going on clean up in Texas, Florida and the Conch Republic, also in Puerto Rico?

May you all have a good day.

    Good morning, Village,

We’ll be off for a couple days. I should have a minute to say “Howdy”. We’re trying to get off early today, so I’ll just pop in and out a few places.

Arthur, we don’t have ANY deciduous trees at all. Everything up here away from the water sources are pines. I sure miss having the color right next to home. So, we always get our “ooh’s and ahh’s” by going into town.

    xoxoxo Happy Trails.

Hi DKRAM & Other Vagabonds—The east coast of Florida is recovering and getting back to normal. The Conch Republic (the island of Key West) opened for business yesterday, according to news reports of a cruise ship passenger disembarkation…but from what I am seeing/hearing, a lot of the other keys are still in pretty bad shape…especially the middle keys. What the storm winds were on the Saffir-Simpson scale has a lot to do with the amount of damage and the status of the recovery at any particular geographic location (e.g., middle keys, Puerto Rico). P.S. A later news report says that the tourists did find some watering holes open on Duval Street, but that the town was ghostly quiet compared to “normal.” The article also said that some of the cruise passengers pitched in as volunteers during their 6 hours on the island. The ship was RC’s smallest, with 900 passengers. Whether the entertainer named Esme was on the ship was not disclosed (this last sentence is a throwaway to those who have been reading recent MW stories over at the Spanish GATURRO comic…).

    Good evening, Vagabonds.

We are in Lordsburg, New Mexico at the KOA here. Last night, we stayed at the KOA in Gila Bend, Arizona. Yes, it was as small a town as the name implies. Both campgrounds are fairly new with some small trees, but not a lot of shade anywhere. Both are also geared for snowbirds and consider this to still be their summer season, so there’s not much going on. We also finally made it to Mountain Time. Arizona is also Mountain, but they don’t recognize daylight savings, so they are in sync with Pacific Time until November. Now all we have to do is reset all the clocks and watches….

We stopped at a place called “The Thing?”. They had sooo many billboards advertising their place that we just had to stop and we what it was. Mostly it was a huge gift shop & gas station, with a DQ attached. The Thing? was part of a small museum that had old time cars and wagons, antique furniture and firearms and of course, The Thing? itself. It turned out to be the mummified remains of a woman and her baby. I have no idea where they got the mummy or why they consider it acceptable to display human remains for money. They only charged a dollar to tour the museum, and I would have been willing to pay more just to see some of the cool stuff they had in there. (other than the mummy)

The weather has been pretty good. It hasn’t been above about 85 even in the desert, and the nights have been in the low 60’s.

Everyone have a blessed evening and day tomorrow.
