The Swiss have a better gun temperament, and a decent cheese.

So what’s the problem here? The point of the Second Amendment is so ordinary citizens can protect themselves against overreach by the government and government officials, which is exactly what the baseball shooter was doing. Isn’t Freedom grand?

We must let mentally ill have guns so if one of them starts shooting more of them can shoot back.

It was self-inflicted by those in power who had six years and did nothing to stop this tragedy. I didn’t see any Democrats put out a map with cross hairs on where to attack the Republicans. Like there was back in 2011 when Palin put the cross hairs right on Giffords.

Now is not the time for people to “apportion blame” for the rampage that left five people injured including a Louisiana congressman clinging to life. But, especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.

There is NEVER a day that goes by that we don’t have another mass shooting somewhere. There will never be an appropriate time to talk about it if we wait for it to stop. It will not stop until effective action is taken.

My previous comment was made in frustration in regard to serious action not considered with mentally ill and guns.

If politicians are scared, they should try to think of themselves as at risk elementary school students.

I am sick of hearing about gun owner rights. What about non-gun owner rights? What about the rights of those of us who want to be able to live without fear of gun violence? People with guns are more likely to hurt themselves or others accidentally than they are to save someone else. It is time to get real about this. I was all for the Republicans having guns at their convention— hey, if that is what they want, let ‘em have it! With lots of free flowing alcohol too! Sure, why not? (It seems that the Secret Service could not allow this for some reason, hmmm…) Same goes for NRA conventions. The rest of us just might not want to be part of their crap. The problem with saying that those of us who don’t agree with the gun culture politics are just the same as they are in terms of blame is that it is simply factually incorrect. The NRA has tons of $ and lots of politicians accept their dark money. They keep accepting it and it only gets worse! Many of us do not agree with the gun culture in the United States and we are most certainly not at blame for it!

MDAVIS, the fear-mongering was done by the NRA, gun manufacturers and dealers. Constant calls of “Obama and the Dems are coming to take your guns” increased sales. Gun sales have dropped since Trump was elected because the gun zealots (I’m not including regular gun owners) can’t say this anymore; it was never true to begin with.

The truth is, the Democratic Party has organizations within it that are especially for protecting gun rights. Never will it be the Democratic party that will outlaw the posession of guns. The other guys, once they are in full fascist control, might.
