The media is hyping this “MOAB” story into a ridiculous narrative. Yes, it’s a big freaking bomb, but it’s usefulness is pretty limited to flattening trees & sending shockwaves into cave networks that can knock out enemies that even the bunker busters can’t reach. We’ve already dropped thousands more tons of explosives on the region. So far, the Islamic terrorists haven’t been cowed. This probably won’t do it, either.

We used a lot of only slightly smaller bombs in Vietnam & couldn’t root out the Viet Cong. Watch for ISIS to turn this into a story of the American Goliath shooting a blunderbuss at a smaller, smarter, righteous adversary & missing.

You and I have very different concepts of “righteousness”.

For what it’s worth, the MOAB killed 34 ISIS fighters. Even assuming it destroyed some of the tunnel works, its success is modest.

The good thing about this is that it will create thousands of more enemies for America to bomb in the future.

Trump didn’t give the order to drop this bomb. And dropping bombs is not what makes you presidential, it is what you do for a policy once the bombs have been dropped. This was the most powerful non-nuclear bomb ever used in a war. The extent of the damage and whether anyone was killed is not yet clear. The military is currently conducting an assessment.

And here we are, a year later, and ISIS is every bit as much a threat as they were back then. Good job, Mr. Donald.
