There are people in the US who betray their class all the time.

Actually, under the Parliament Acts 1911 and 1949, the House of Lords cannot either amend or vote down what are called “Money Bills” (which here in the US are referred to as “revenue bills” in the Constitution). They automatically become law 60 days after they pass the House of Commons. This bill Zonker is considering would be considered a “Money Bill” since it deals with taxation.

The rich are for socialism when it applies to themselves. Corporate welfare is just fine, but don’t go giving any $ to the poor.

I am not advocating for the poor working long hours at low pay in dingy government factories. I am advocating for good, decent union jobs with fair wages. Under Reagan and Thatcher, the working class suffered when the unions lost power. The rich did very well as they benefitted from the corporate handouts. Jack in Bizarro World needs to learn from some actual history.

Trump is an admirer of the world of Putin, a country in which the dingy government factories are abundant. Trump and some in the GOP think Putin is a great leader. They better be careful what they wish for. Putin simply has his rivals killed if they stand up to him.

    Ather said,

“I wish the rich in the US would betray their class.”

    .

Just as a mental exercise, please define what would constitute a betrayal of class.

    .

Follow that with contemplation of what whatever that would be would do to the rest of the people.

For an example, The Soviet leaders decided to stick it to the rich farmers by taking away their seed and collectivizing their farms. This led to starvation which killed millions.

    .

More recently the same thing was done to the people of Ethiopia with the same starvation and deaths of millions.

    .

The rich include the bankers and investors. If the banks fail, the people needing banks suffer. If the investors fail, the businesses fail and the people lose their jobs and the people who needed what they produced suffer for the lack of it.

    .

What is more, the people who provide them services like water, sewage, power, cars, health care. et cetera can’t be paid and they suffer.

    .

The ripples don’t stop there or die down, they may get even worse because THEY can’t pay for what THEY need.

    .

If you aren’t careful, you may destroy the world before Trump gets to.
