Ain’t that the truth. One would think people would use the Internet to easily gather factual information and use it to make decisions. The reality is they look at social media and make a viral hit out of anything they like that supports their own bias. Really makes you wonder where the world is going.
Not only does it give everyone a voice, but for some it gives support to their wildest fantasies. We no longer have truths, we have options that are supported more or less than opposing opinions. Does the sun revolve around a flat earth – or does a round globe travel around a star? If you have two views, they are both equal today and must be respected and considered. Just google it…
I don’t do social media so I miss most of the garbage that’s posted there. When I first got online I largely confined myself to usenet newsgroups. Verizon screwed me by dropping support for them so any socialising I do online is done here.Everything else is vested in research into history, music, movies and other topics that I look up through a search engine. I’m speechless there but I’m sure nowadays that the sites know I’ve been there. I sure get enough ads that are related to those topics to tell me so.There are some commenters who just amaze me with their entrenched opinions and hatred for others’ opinions.I’m saddened by the coarseness that political dialogue has fallen into in this country.
