This reminds me of a twilight-zone episode from the 60’s,where a woman underwent cosmetic surgery because she thought she was extremely unattrative(ugly) It was filmed in such a way that you never seen the faces of the nurse or surgeon,and when the bandages were removed ,and her face revealed she gasped and started to cry because she was still ugly, but in point of fact she was beautiful,Then the faces of the nurse and surgeon were revealed,and they were hideous.Turns out they were from the planet Zorton or something,where people who looked like us were considered ugly! Go figure!
Ever read Ray Bradbury’s “The Martian Chronicles?” A human family on Mars, with the kids clamoring to see a Martian… and the father points to their reflection in a pool of water.
