We have Sitka falling into the ocean, Bangkok digging out from a terrorist attack and a renowned archeologist murdered by ISIS.
And the lead story on the morning news is Trump and Hillary. Bread and circuses. Americans must be the most misinformed, ill-informed people on the planet.

The Republicans are brilliant using Trump as their lightening rod.
He gets what he wants: fanfare and publicity. The press gets what they want: reality TV bread and circuses. And the other candidates get Trump to say those things they would like to get in the American mind without being quoted .Trump can attack the Democrats and Hillary (CLINTON – don’t forget it). with all the subtlety of a hyperactive three year old with a sledge hammer and get away with it.
In some ways he’s like a tornado: a lot of hot air making a lot of noise, tossing a lot of things about, going nowhere in particular and leaving a lot of damage in his wake.
Trump is like the Star Trek redshirts: the rest of the crew puts them up front to take the hits so the yellowshirts don’t have to.
