Uh, Huckabee would definitely be the snake handler, or well, maybe the snake?

I love how folks always fail to mention the 13000 annual deaths caused by pollution from coal in the US.

The really nice part of this is it will either happen or not. Opinions won’t change the climate. One side or the other will be proven right eventually. But the Pro Global Warming types keep pushing the date off further and further so most of us will never know.

Looks like somebody was watching the 4th Season of “Justified” and how that season started out.

Does anyone who posts here live in coal mining country?

My picture of coal mining areas is that they are not at all prosperous, except for mine owners and many don’t live in the area. Also, the population is not very healthy because working in the mines are the main jobs, so workers get black lung disease, not to mention injuries and deaths that result from mine accidents.

In addition, the various mining techniques leaves the land that has been mined ravaged.

Remember that mine owners have had people beaten and killed to discourage unions. They have also fought every safety and environmental regulation ever proposed, passed, or enforced.

====Dunno if it’s still the case, but during the Nixon admin, part of a ‘compromise’ to settle a bitter strike was that the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT would take on the responsibility for treating black lung disease of the miners.

This is the industry that Henry Payne and the other so-called ‘conservatives’ want to preserve?

Or is it just another attempt to blame Obama for natural gas being cheaper than coal?

No! Coal is too modern, too risky, it’s just a fad! Return to the use of wood burning steam engines and whale oil lamps! Coal has put our woodcutters and whalers out of business.

Jimmy Carter was a damn good president and an honest, caring man. We need more leaders like him, rather then the lieing, corrupt, idiots the GOP is offering us.

Almost like having a smoker (or some other addict) telling you what is best for “your well-being” . . . . oh, wait . . . .

You forgot to mention how much his Muslim background influences everything he says and does.

Coal miners have always been pretty much the bottom of the social, economic, and longevity ladder, while the mine OWNERS have always ridden the top, with a drink in their hand. Unted Mne Workers were the first to at least improve safety, with the government, but today’s owners have rolled that back too, by paying ridiculously low “fines” even if they do get caught violating the laws and regulations (which they’ve re-written under conservative administrations.)

Coal does remain the dirtiest fuel and fossil fuel source, but those Canadian tar sands are a very close second.

The solution for the planet is of course NOT to clean up our corporate profits act, our our waste products, all the animals, incuding us, just need to stop wasting oxygen by breathing. Let CO and CO2 rule as the gods intended.

Science ruins everything. Next, they’ll be telling us that smoking causes cancer and that the lead in pewter plates and silverware is bad for you..Stupid science.
