What is it?? Tell me what it is!! Mom: This is it! Cathy: What's it?? Mom: i just wanted to sit and talk when you weren't busy doing something else! Cathy: What?? Mom: Ahah! Do I hear chips being opened?? Cathy: What do you mean, just sit and talk??! Beyond "multi-tasking," an even bigger challenge: "single-tasking".

It’s okay, Cathy. While you’re sitting, open the chips, turn on the tv, send and receive a dozen texts while you give your mom your undivided attention. (Eyeroll)

Giving our undivided attention is more and more difficult in today’s world. I do the best I can when necessary, but even Cathy in the comic would probably roll her eyes at me a lot of the time. Ha.
HI, MOM. Happy Sunday, Clan.

The tough part is trying to convince those who are proud of their ability to multitask that they really are not doing as well as they think. Substandard work is the usual result.
Another beautiful day here. We just might lose a lot of snow today with that bright sunshine. That plus I just finished filing my taxes for the year – and a whole week before the deadline too!
I hope everyone else here has a reason to feel as good as I do right now.

Unless what they’re talking about is really important, I don’t understand why Cathy needs to put everything down and only listen to her mom, who I’m sure she talks to every day. I have to agree with Cathy that this would concern me that something is wrong, if I’m told that I should sit down and pay attention.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Sunday! Volleyball for Lil is finished! It was a busy season, but a good learning experience for her. Personally, I hope she continues to work to improve her skills now that she will no longer have mandatory practice, and I’m also thrilled that I’ll have my weekends back. Wow, lindz.coop, that’s quite an exciting time in your town! Did everything get all cleaned up? What caused the truck to crash? Just a regular accident, or was the driver under the influence? I hope just a regular accident bc it makes me nervous to know that the drivers in control of such large vehicles aren’t in the right frame of mind. hendelca, I hope you are now free of snow! Wow, what a long winter! Is this normal? It’s been extra cool here, but considering we seem to go from cold to hot quickly here, a real spring has been nice. I’m here in jeans, a long sleeved shirt and a sweatshirt, which is really unusual for Georgia in mid-April. Also, congratulations on your taxes!! I’m so jealous bc my husband’s company screwed up, and we owed a ton of money this year, so it has been really painful. :-( Anyway, I hope you all are having a great weekend!

Well…another way to look at it is if your Mom was at your house, you would probably be eating something together, watching tv together, doing some project together….. so why is it so important to have someone’s undivided attention when they are talking on the phone? Just wondering. Not sure what the condition of the driver was in the runaway truck, lightenup. All I’ve seen so far is the small paragraph in the Detroit paper about it…our local paper doesn’t come out until Wednesday, so unless I manage to talk to somebody in the know, I won’t know anymore about the accident until then. I did see a funny one on FB today…in Detroit over the past ten days we have had temps as high as 73, as low as 14, it has rained, snowed, sleeted, hailed and we had an earthquake.
