Mocking Glen Beck doesn’t make him wrong. I’d invest in gold if I had money to invest. The Fed can make paper money worth whatever they want it to be worth, and they’re stocking up on gold, too.

    Gold was over $800 in 1980. http://www.goldprice.org/gold-price-history.html

from measuringworth.com In 2008, $800.00 from 1980 is worth: $2,090.83 using the Consumer Price Index $1,817.48 using the GDP deflator $2,521.01 using the value of consumer bundle $2,058.38 using the unskilled wage $3,098.66 using the nominal GDP per capita $4,143.73 using the relative share of GDP

So, by almost any measure, gold has a long way to go to meet it’s previous bubble high. Gold is simply the current asset bubble, a function it serves every 30-40 years.

Buy into the bubble early, get out at the high and make a bundle, fuel the fever.

Buy in late, transfer your wealth to the early players. That’s how bubbles work.

Buying gold is telling the world you don’t believe in your country. When the peasants start wearing gold around their necks, watch for a new government.. History says so.

Back to Christmas. I’m going to see my shrink in a few hours. Should I wear an aluminum foil hat , as GB suggests, or should I go with my elf hat with pointy ears. Perhaps I should stick with the conservative Santa hat with “Bah Humbug” stiched across the front.

This is sooo true. Fox News is bumpkiss selling trash. The guy on Wall Street who made the most money this year was the one who gambled AGAINST the US going belly up. Chill out, America! We’ll be fine. Merry Christmas.

I find it interesting that the liberal left keeps saying how slanted and biased the Fox News Channel is while ignoring that fact that CNN and ABC News have been slanted toward the liberla left forever. Sam Donaldson is without a doubt the most biased news commentator that side of Rush Limbaugh.

Even if Beck WERE making money from gold, it’s a pittance compared to what Al Gore makes selling carbon offsets.

(Not that I’m defending Beck. With the Dems in thrall to socialism and the Repubs kowtowing to people who believe Adam and Eve rode around on dinosaurs, there is no party for me.)

pschearer, The Dems wouldn’t know socialism if it were to come up and bite them on the arse. There’s nothing that even resembles socialism in the U.S.
