Well, let’s see. Inflation may be declining in some regards (interesting way the government loves to “analyze” those numbers if you look into what they include.
However wages have increased slightly, but does not keep up with inflation by far for the past 3 years. All one has to do is compare their grocery receipts from 2020 to 2021 to 2022 and to 2023 and you’ll be astonished at what the same items cost. I buy pretty much the same things every week, very little variation, and my food budget has increased almost double in that time.
So while the data shows X happening, the people are not feeling it at all. And when you start increasing your debt to just live…..well, it doesn’t take a college degree to figure out how it works out for a politician.
And right or wrong, the President is going to take the hit for it. Especially when a President (and they all do it, not just Biden) screams about all the good they have done but have actually done jack squat to change things, you own it.
