One morning early in my parents’ relationship, my dad asked for Baked Apples.When he came in from work, he asked about the smoke that filled the house.Mom said she had no idea; “Ever since I put those apples in the oven . . . .”She had put them, core & all, on the rack like a potato.
She got really good in the kitchen by the time I was aware.
