Fillibusters are to be used in only extreme circumstances. Now its just used to block anything that might help America/Obama. Sadly, it is a contest, and the CONs in the senate are ahead by a landslide. And the debt deal WAS 98% of what boner wanted (he was happy about that). It was all spending cuts (some of which boner is now trying to go back on) and no tax increases (I will get back to that in a bit). The point is, he held the country hostage untill he got almost everything he wanted, and the country paid the price. Boner and the republicans need to COMPROMISE with the dems, because all I’ve been seeing is the democrats going to the republicans side on everything. Also, I’m glad you brought up how Americans feel about the healthcare reform bill. According to gallup, 60% of Americans favor the buffet rule. Does that mean we should put it in place? Well why are the republicans blocking it then? And finally, when I type CONservative, I’m not spelling it wrong. I’m just emphisizing the first three letters. I’m sorry that upsets you so much, but I never stated I was impartial (don’t see you correcting to many of the CONservatives on this site, but whatever). But let me help you out. DemoCRAPS dosn’t have the same effect becasue there is no “p” in democrats (among other things). What you could have done was emphisize the last four letters, like “democRATS”. And thats just off the top of my head.
I am a moderate and visit sites and articles from both sides of the fence. I never see the name calling and downright disrepescet coming from the left but man o mon do it I see it from the right. If you want to win over the middle ground moderates you right wingers have zero knowledge of how to do that, frankly it sickens and amazes me at the same time.
@Odon: no, Obozo did not compromise at all his first two years. He had veto-proof majorities in both houses who gave him everything he wanted. And look how much good it’s done! THAT was the mistake for the future of our country.
Ya can’t fix 8 years of incompetence, arrogance, and swaggering in a little over 3 years…. especially with the Rebumblicans having ONLY ONE AGENDA; MAKE OBAMA A ONE TERM PRESIDENT. No concern for the welfare of he average man or This Country. The Rebumblican mantra has been, "Ask ONLY what this Country can do for YOU and screw the rest of them…. The Right Wing always resorts to unsubstantiated lies, inflammatory rhetoric, innuendos, etc… When the get pushed into a corner….
The “individual madate” was a CONservative idea. Gingrich defended it (as recently as ‘09) by saying "its foundation was individual rights, RESPONSIBILITIES, and expected behavior. And this man supported it all the way back to the early 90’s.http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/newt-gingrich-in-2009-hey-that-individual-mandate-is-a-great-idea/
It took a week for me to see my VA doc, who comes over from out of town. It took SIX WEEKS for me to see my “private” doc in that “grand old pay up front” system.(Or insurance, which does NOT get you in any sooner.) The American system is NOT any better than Canada, and costs a LOT more, for EVERYTHING!

Payne is in the myth brigade.

The getting better would be faster if the republicans would learn how to compromise, even a little.

If Obama had “rammed through the health bill” it would have been the health bill we needed, not the one we have.

So what’s the problem? A patient needing specific care is transferred to another facility. That is commonplace not unique.
