On Obama economic policy:
G.O.P. Congress
Congressman: Government doesn't create jobs.
On Obama military cuts:
G.O.P. Congress
Congressman: But...that could eliminate some of the jobs in my district.
If R want a big Defense- they should pay for it. If D want a big Obama-care- they should pay for it. Taxpayers should pay only HALF. The rest has to come out of R or D pockets (talk to the rich 17 million that pay Zero Income Taxes). This is a CASH-ONLY Pay-As-You-Go Plan. After the National Debt is reduced to ZERO, then the Taxpayer can consider being generous.
No, you are simply ignorant and wrong. Go read up on “socialism.” While you’re at it, see how it is completely different from Communism, which you are alluding to but also getting wrong.
I read The Communist Manifesto back in high school and took economics as an undergraduate at Harvard; I’m tolerably well-informed on the difference between Marx’s concept of Communism and socialism and what so-called Communist governments actually do. Marx was a brilliant economic historian with legitimate criticisms of perfect capitalism (that’s in the view of some conservative economists, who add that we we’ve never had perfect capitalism), but in my view was an idiot on understanding human psychology. If you identify socialism solely to Marx, you are either ill-informed or an idiot: it dates back to the eighteenth century, and there are many varieties of Socialism that have nothing to do with what Marx and Engels thought it would do. Lincoln sounded like a socialist at some points.
^A progressive tax code with all the loopholes for the megawealthy, underfunded and undermanned institutionalized welfare, and more cuts to social programs than you can shake a stick at (if that’s your idea of a good time). But its not small enough for the Republican Totalitarian Party.
“from each according to his abilities, to each according to his need.” Sounds like how the Pilgrims started. Then they simplified it: “No Work, No Eat.” There have been a few communal experiments in America that dealt with this concept. The Great Society by LBJ using ‘Other People’s Money’ is running out of money.
