? Despite being technologically a bit inferior to Toyota’s offerings, the Volt had the highest owner-appreciation rate of all cars in Consumer Reports’ annual survey. What’s the point of this cartoon?

Right, buy a used Pinto. The majority of “labor” on all U.S. production lines is not done by robotics and computers. Folks with Volts, so far do have high satisfaction. Any “problem” with alternative vehicles, electric or hybrid, is going to be blown all out of proportion by, oil company lobbyists, not car manufacturers. Interesting that hybrids being made today actually get poorer gas mileage than those built 8 years ago. Yes, interesting indeed. Of course that gas powered cars are getting poorer mileage than a number being made 40 that’s FORTY years ago is “suspicious” even given the smog rules that get the blame, and it was only a technologic “blip” quickly overcome, but not incorporated into production. CAFE standards should have been raised higher a long time ago.

Same thing on the Borman and the Kennedy. Not so much on the Outer Drive.
