Petey can’t stop himself, Dill, it’s his nature.

Old age makes all of us more cynical. Ah, to have the untarnished eye of those 3 years younger than us.

It’s all right, Dill. It’s all ammunition for your brothers’ trebuchet!

Petey’s post-Christmas Lament for the Trees can be unnerving to those with sensitive souls, such as Dill. Luckily, Alice is of tougher stuff and can shut him down….

Petey should leave the little kids alone with his attitude. It is a sad thing to cut a whole tree every year. I planted a pine straight out from my patio doors my first Christmas here and I have some nice little trimmings now to bring inside for the scent (with some pyrocanthia berries for color).

Mine will come down Jan 1st, 2nd, or the following weekend. Although, after New Year’s Day, it’s kind of depressing to have the tree sitting there, time to move on, you know.

once you go plastic you’ll never go back. If you want that fresh pine scent get an air freshener at 7-11.

It’s not Petey’s fault that adults carve up the trees, let them dehydrate so the needles fall off, and then toss the carcasses against the side of the road for trash pickup. He’s just accepting what everyone else is choosing to cast a blind eye over – the carnage of Christmas is brutal.

Dec 26 is the most depressing day of the year.

It’s too soon to take down the tree. It’s only the 5th day of the 12 Days of Christmas. Our American culture drives me nuts! Start celebrating Christmas when it’s Halloween and then stop celebrating right after 12/25. Horrible!
