Looks like we’ll be trading poorly managed, expensive private sector health care for poorly managed, expensive government health care.
Decidedly underwhelming.
Cheers!
Whyever should health-care be connected with your job? People who have never actually lived anywhere else or tried another HC system sure do seem to have a lot of opinions about them anyway. That’s American faith-based politics.
The Senate vote was only TO DEBATE the proposal! The Repugs don’t even want to review, revise, or discuss the issue at hand. Odd, that the Constitution gives them the responsibility to create legislation through debate and discussion, and these “constructionists” don’t want any part of it? Oh, wait, many of those pages added in committee WERE from the Republican side.
The bill IS too big, hiding way too much BS, but that is where the revision process comes in, if they’d just sit down and actually do it.
BTW, Medicare doesn’t work all that badly, but Medicaid, administered by each individual state, IS a real mess to deal with, huge conflicts and complex, often nonsensical rules to follow, all different. A uniform plan works much better.

Thinginthebasement, I believe they did read it, but, being mostly rich white guys, they figured it’ll never be applied to them.

Unbelievable. Health care reform seems like it wants to end preventive medicine and quality health care.

Oh, no another lighthouse nut. So is my sister…have you considered the lighthouses on the Great Lakes, fennec?
