Sorry it looks like another illusion for you Ziggy. It is amazing what people will do to make you think one way and it’s just the opposite.I have worked with the public for more than 47 years. Out of those 47 years and still counting, I do my best to treat a customer right in every possible way. As we know some people will not always tell the truth about a product or the way a situation was handled. For example – I had a customer that bought a long formal dress for a special occasion that was to happen that weekend. The following Monday she returned the dress back saying that she ended up wearing something else. Normally we don’t take special occasion dresses back because we have found in the past the people wear them for that occasion and return them just for that purpose in mind. We will make exceptions if we see that the dress is returned with all the tickets and that it has not been altered in any fashion. Well in one situation, a customer returned a long formal gown and wanted her money back. I personally checked over the gown. The tickets were off and it had the smell of perfume and the dress had alterations done to it. Now how am I going to treat this customer? I kindly said, I’m sorry this dress appears to have been worn. She simply looked me right in the eye and said she did not wear it and demand her money back. Even though I knew that was not the truth I gave her money back and took the loss. You are going to have customers that are not the most desirable for your business. What do you do with those? If it’s a small privately own business, nine times out of ten they won’t be back anyway because they have to face you. That is if they have any consciousness at all. Some don’t! But if it’s a large retail business they will keep taking advantage of the situation from store to store. This is one of the reasons why we have inflation.

I know, wu. Neo-cons merely call criminals “patriots” and they Oliver North out then door. Or they call them “rich” and give them more money cause they didn’t steal enough to suit them to begin with. Or they call them “oil barons” and hand the country’s gas pumps to them once they get control of congress.

And the customer is as right as the seller lets him be until the seller sues and reverses the roles.

If you don’t like capitalism, may I suggest an island or a peninsula where they don’t practice it. Maybe you could tell those good folk how to run things. If you think Company X is making gobs of money, try to find that P/E in the WSJ.If you think Company Y made gobs of money, look up how much they reinvested to create jobs.If you think Company Z exploits its worker, organize and buy a controlling share of stock.Or just bitch and do nothing like a liberal.Oh, you think the government should interfere with private industry. Did I mention an island and a peninsulaI notice failures hate success.
