Yeah, rikoshayrabbit, you nailed it. Being “protected” from imaginative criminals by unimaginative cops, what are out chances!? ^_^

rikoshay…much as I hate to admit it, that’s not quite as dumb as it sounds. Remember Richard Reed, the shoe bomber? Tried to smuggle explosives about an airliner hidden in the soles of his shoes,

I remember Richard Reed. It’s his fault we are getting our shoes X-rayed in airports now – and I travel a lot. However, he was a complete idiot: he tried to light plastic explosive on fire with a match. Yeah, that was subtle. Also, just for the record, TSA employees can’t detect plastic explosive at better than chance levels. The Bush Administration dedicated their security efforts to frisking pilots (talk about unnecessary) and harassing passengers instead of installing X-Ray machines that can differentiate plastic explosive from, well, plastic. So we are being harassed uselessly. Real terrorists (not Reed, he was just an idiot follower) would know the real danger is zero, but millions of passengers are being abused for nothing. Not that I’m angry about this or anything.
