Of course we all know this cute little puppy is doomed to die a lonely, damp death. We’ve already seen it. It looms in his future like a giant, scary mailman coming to get him with pepper spray ond stomp on his tail.

Oh runar, don’t spoil the moment for me. I love seeing Farley for the first time! He’s so sweet.

Damp, yes, but not lonely. He was off to the side when everyone was seeing if April was OK, but his family was there. A better description of his passing might be “heroic”.

Runar, Marley died a hero, having saved April from drowning.His ‘toon life was good. Sheesh what a downer you are.

Runar, Farley did not die a lonely damp death. He died in Liz’s arms, with John her father nearby after saving April from drowning.

Where’s Admiral Akbar when you need him?

aww man, i didn’t know farley saved april from drowning!! ahh it’s spoiled for me now, i shouldn’t have read the comments :(

About 14 years down the road, yeah, so I’d say there’s a decent chance you’ll have forgotten the spoiler by then.

I don’t think that it’s a true spoiler, Jenny. rmbdot is right, Farley lives to be 14 years old. Lynn has said many times that these strips will not go into the future like the old ones, so I doubt if we will ever see April in the strip at all, let alone grow up with Farley.

If you don’t let the pup in, they will move over to the neighbors.

Elly’s not screaming her head off when she goes next door and sees the dogs. I think that is a good sign.

Farley died a special, herioc death. He was not alone and he still lives a happy and healthy life in the sweet memories of his family and friends.

Gee whiz, runar! Farley lived a long happy 14 years and died in his family’s arms, with Liz’s coat around him and after John had stroked him and told him how good he was. He was exhausted, but not lonely or scared.

Life is good and dogs are great!! Ah, puppy breath!!!

I wish my dog was as awesome as Farley.

Ah It’s about time for Elly to check with John and Michael at Mrs. Baird’s. I hope John and Michael convincing Elly to bring cute puppy “Farley” to their home.

Enjoy the moment for what it is, folks!

So that’s what happened to Farley. I had a few years when I couldn’t get FBoFW so I didn’t know what became of him. ty

There is actually an animated movie of those events. It is very good entertainment.

That’s what I get for being late today, 27 comments! But no one mentioned how absolutely adorable that puppy is in the last frame. Will you look at that face? If Elly can resist that she has a heart of stone!

Lynn Johnson has the most wonderful artistry! i agree, that the puppy (Farley, I am sure!) has shown the cutest little expressions!
