I oppose our sending any arms to Israel, especially with the murder they’re no committing. Having said that, in this country, it is extremely difficult to extricate the country from its long-standing (albeit wrong) arms relationship with Israel. Many have said that Biden can do it with a pen stroke. But in this political environment, that’s not possible — it could easily, and probably would lead to Biden’s defeat in November. And no matter how bad things are now, they would get much much worse under Trump 2.0, especially in the Middle East. At least now Biden is trying to get Israel to moderate its atrocities a little while still getting aid to Gaza. If Trump were in office right now, there would be no aid to Gaza at all, and Trump would be encouraging Bibi to raze Gaza to the ground.
This is a position that has taken us decades to get into, and until there is broad support across the country, Biden has to tread carefully. I don’t like it, but political reality is not the same as normal reality.
Hamas understudy of the Irgun, Lehi, and Haganah; Israel taught them the basics in the 40s and 50s then put them in internment camps to die after they had their ancestral homes stolen from them! Only thing Haganah is still running up their tallies
Thing is, this is primarily Biden’s fault. When President Trump first took office, Iran’s yearly income was around $100 billion and they used that in part to fund terrorist groups around the world. Trump levied so many sanctions on Iran that their income quickly dropped to about $3 billion which in turn dried funds for terrorists. When Biden took office he removed those sanctions and Iran’s income rapidly grew to over $80 billion and money started flowing out to terrorist organizations again. This is what allowed and encouraged Hamas to attack Israel on the 10/7 massacre. Hezbollah to start attacking across their border. Various terror groups to begin attacking US forces in Syria.

Bleibel is commenting that it’s a proxy war. But he’s only looking at one of the participants.

Supporting an ally doesn’t mean supporting everything they do. I think biden was rather clear on his opposition to things Bibi is doing.
