I like how they filmed it in British Columbia and the Japanese cast and crew said it reminded them of the area of Japan it stood in for. I also like the castle interiors and the use of a real samurai castle. I also like how this rendition was from Toranaga’s point of view. I would have enjoyed the battle of Sekihagara but that is all over YouTube and programmes about Tokugawa Ieyasu.
I liked reading the book, a few times. It was before the mini series, which was by then disappointing,like most big books, when filmed. When co-worker in the dept. store read it, she and I would greet each other in Japanese when our paths crossed, along with other phrases from the book.
