In 1965, or so, I met a young lady on the train going to Boston. She was returning to college, and I was returning to my ship after a week’s leave. It was cold and drafty, so I offered her my peacoat. We sat together and talked for hours. I’d hoped to get in touch with her after a three-month-cruise, but her roomie told me she’d gone to a seedy hotel in the Combat Zone for an abortion, and bled out in an alleyway behind the dumpsters.
I guess women in Arizona will have to start making short trips to their neighboring state, California. If asked, they can just say it’s for treatment of “back problems”. (That’s what girls were said to have when they were what was delicately termed “P.G.” in the early 60’s, when I was in high school.)
And if you oppose abortion on religious grounds, remember — the people telling you it’s a sin are lying. It is not banned in scripture. The personhood at conception is not a tenet of the faith nor found anywhere in Christian / Jewish scriptures. They made that up for political expedience.

Those old, scared, bully-type white guys sure do run to MEAN, don’t they. I hope and expect that it’s just more nails in their party’s coffin.

tRump brags that he killed Roe v Wade because “it’s what the people want”. But every poll shows a solid majority in favour of freedom of choice.

Does the Comstock act prohibit the mailing of coathangers?
