In Edinburgh, Scotland with an afternoon with free time I decided to visit a museum that looked interesting. I checked the location of our hotel and the museum, then looked back to make sure I knew where the hotel was every time I changed streets (this was long before smart phones) so that I could find my way back. Museum was very nice. While retracing my path a Middleastern-looking man approached me with a guidebook. Panicked, I thought he was going to ask for directions. He was. He asked how to get to the museum I had just left, the ONE PLACE in Edinburgh I knew how to find.
I used to work at Renaissance Faires. I danced in the street next to a perfume cart and spoke with a fake “Algerian” accent. I was so convincing, sometimes Francophones would try to speak French to me.
I would reply in my best French accent: “Je ne parle pas français; Je viens de Géorgie”. (“I don’t speak French; I’m from Georgia.”)
I sounded so good they would sometimes continue to speak to me in French for a few more seconds before realizing what I had said. :)

Today’s strip would make more sense if I understood English. I believe they have a class at the local community college.
