Throw that book out the window! It is a fine, well written book, but simply too heart and gut wrenchingly sad. I just read The Eyes and the Impossible by Dave Eggers. Oooh boy! Very emotional but happier.
I would switch books, Red! Old Yeller is too sad! I wasn’t allowed to see the movie, let alone read the book when I was little! Best to just snuggle together!
