Yeah, I’d give it two out of three, especially compared to cancer complications. Blocking out an exit strategy without a clue as to probable final cause is frustrating. Outlived the professional careers of three cardiologists (two retired, one died) and the fourth supervised a valve replacement and may retire before I expire. Guess it’s still going to be a surprise, like when I hear what I’m saying when I haven’t thought first.
As I recall, there is a form of prostate cancer that virtually all men who live past 80 will get, but it progresses so slowly that it will never become an issue before the man eventually dies of something else. But it does, at some point, render a PSA test useless.
Reminds me of when my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. His doctor told him the cancer wouldn’t be what kills him. He won’t live long enough for it to (he is 80 years old, morbidly obese, has congestive heart failure, and emphysema)
