Hammy for the win. Here’s the question… What previous time period would you prefer to live in?

Why would you want to put the world back together again? The glue goes everywhere and the world’ll just break again the first chance it gets. Cut your losses and make omelets.

I wonder if Hammy just might be the cause after drinking a few “Red Bulls” and time traveling.

I’m not going to complain about life when I’m sitting here in jammies eating cereal and reading comics in a nice little house with the bills paid, two cars in the driveway, cats playing nearby. Multiple computers, phones and TV sets, the family in reasonable health, and scheduled activities to enjoy. And we’re solidly middle-class with less money than most people these days. Nope, I’m staying in the here and now counting blessings and thankful for being born in this country and doing what I can to preserve the good and fix the bad.

There aren’t actually that many periods of time in the past you’d actually want to live. Yes, modern times are rather dodgy right now, but they’ve been significantly worse in the past with one thing or another. I think issues have always been there, you are just more aware of them now due to the ready access to information (a lot of it false unfortunately)

No, Verne, we just see all the issues nowadays, whereas, in the past we didn’t, and psychologically, we just can’t handle the view.

Granted women had a raw deal at the time, but they pretty much always have had. Just for the apparent general sense of polite interaction with others. Being civil and a lot more common sense. Middle to late 1800’s. At least that’s my impression of it. U.S. only, can’t speak for the rest of the world. That’s me personally, in general, the world has been pretty rotten for most people since day one.

I can’t change the world, but I can make my little piece of it better. I have chosen to work with the homeless. You can make your part of the world better as well. Find something that speaks to your soul. . . do that!! Read library books to kids, help the Humane Society, visit seniors in Nursing Homes with no family. We are all connected if enough of us do this, we can bring compassion and decency back into the world.

There are no cuffs. The world falls apart when nobody has cuffs.

Look around you at what you actually see. Not what the media presents to you, but what you actually see with your own eyes. Take it from there.

When I was 7 — sure there was the Cuban missile crisis and racism and homophobia and sexism but I was 7 and didn’t know about any of it
