Reminds me of a character in LM Alcott’s Eight Cousins books, an orphan maid who becomes a famous concert singer. She always ends her concerts by imitating a bunch of bird calls; people are apparently charmed by this.

Reminds me of the “Singing Bird Clock” that they used to advertise on television.

Does Woodstock have to do his birdcalls on a piano now? Good grief…

I have a Peanuts Christmas clock that does some kind of chime on the hour. I’ve never used that feature, so I don’t remember exactly what it sounds like! It’s a very cute clock, though, with Woodstock on the tip of the second hand.

And now, Schroeder and Woodstock will do a duet together on the same piano.

Mr. Schultz must have been short on time when he did this. Several of the cells are identical except for the musical notes; others are very similar. Still, amazing talent that can get so good a gag out of repetitive illustrations.

A French composer, Olivier Messiaen, (1908 – 1992), wrote a number of pieces based wholly upon birdsong.

There’s a whole community of people who do that, Snoopy. They’re called bird-watchers.

There are worse things to listen to. Road construction, rap or country music or opera, neighbors fighting or a dog incessantly barking, among them.
