Always happens when you revisit places you last saw as a kid. Or see people you last saw as a kid. They shrink. I remember visiting my elementary school as an adult. My little sister was in a play so my mom and I went to see her. (she was great BTW, she played Bob Cratchitt’s wife) The lockers were tiny. So was everything else. But the real shock was that the teacher I had a crush on in 5th grade had shrunk too. In 5th grade he’d seemed so tall. Now I saw he was only a few inches taller than I was and I’m rather short.

Ain’t that the truth. Distances around the old stompin’ grounds also seem to become shorter.
