Surely this can’t be the first full moon you’ve howled at. Mr Dear is being a crab. I guess he doesn’t like being awakened in the middle of the night, but still, he knows dogs howl.

Haha :-D my late dad would have joined in. When I was little he sometimes took me outside and we “howled” at the moon and stars. Too bad- sometimes the dogs of the neighborhood joined in. Them my mum used to shoo us inside again. ;-) I think she felt a wee bit embarrassed…

I love very much how the howling sound is drawn! Great artwork. Yes!

I love the basic illustration style. I feel a bit bad for Fred, outside in the cold (and where’s the doghouse?), but yeah, it was the 60s…

I grew up alongside a Bassett hound, and I don’t recall now that she bayed at the moon on a monthly basis, or just on a daily basis that grew a little louder at the full moon times…

I’ve never understood why dogs howl at a full moon! I guess it’s just instinct.

Okay, this is what Yahoo! Search revealed…

Why do dogs howl at the Moon?Dogs howl at the moon to communicate. It conveys territory, hunger, pain, a catch, or their location. Dogs are more reactive to visual and auditory stimuli at night, too. Other times, howling can be a sign of attention-seeking or dementia. Overall, it’s innate and sometimes breed-driven. #1: Full moon? Better lighting
