Does anyone remember when the overload of commercials for men had to do with “ED”? Then the pills were available in generic form, and the crazy profitability dropped so the commercials went away. Now, watch a football game and it’s loaded with gambling advertisements. It’s not my thing and know it can lead to trouble, but I’ll bet they get many young people to try and get hooked, kind of like the street hustler with a free sample of drugs. My advice- Don’t.
Finally a Gorell cartoon with a real message and meaning.
If folks hadn’t noticed, it’s not just Las Vegas and Atlantic City anymore. The casinos are in pretty much every state, and the on-line gambling is everywhere. The government sponsored lotteries are out of control serve nicely as the entry level to addiction. For some people this is as bad as opioids.
Was at Niagara Falls Canada and stayed at the hotel overlooking the falls and casino. The casino had taxis and limos all hours of the day and night. Nice building the casino was, bright, well lit up. You know that it was a money maker. As the old saying goes" the house always win"

I haven’t seen any particular news stories about gambling recently. Is there a story behind this ’toon?

Clearly, gorrell can only be pointing out the fact that failed casino loser/owner trump is fatally dangerous to bet on.

The best comment I’ve ever heard is that in order for you to win the lottery millions of people had to lose.

Gambling is a tax on people who don’t understand probability theory.
