CFL’s were a horrid step toward LED’s. Took too long to power up, needed to be on for several minutes or they would burn out quickly, ghastly glow and massive amounts of mercury added to landfills as we trashed them. Good riddance.

The “old fashioned” compact flourescents. Now pretty much replaced by LED’s. Doesn’t take long for things to become obsolete anymore.

Contrary to what LED bulb makers say, a 25WATT LED is NOT as bright as a 60 WATT incandescent. FAR from it.
