Walked in the house last night and saw the cat bowl, which was odd…I didn’t think they could pick up the ball. ;-)

I had 2 outside ferals that would not come in under any circumstances. I gave them shelter, food and heat in the winter. It worked well for them and me.

I give mine a 3-count count down. They’ve learned that that means the door is fixing to close.

That’s because all cats hear the call of the wild…but the wild they hear calling is not the modern world with cars, large dogs, cruel people, etc.

I would open the door for the count of three, then close it.Our cats learned to make a dash for it, or no luck for another hour.

More like “Shrug off the Wild”….

This seems to be a reference to “To Build A Fire” by Jack London about a man with his dog in a sub-zero wilderness. (I read it in high school.)

He just wanted a quick look out the front door, No interest in going out.

Just as you relax in your chair with your coffee, there will be scratching and desperate yowling to be let out.

I love panel two. Luddie is looking up at her, going “Yeah? So?”

Cats think we are the dumbest creatures they know. Continually, we ask “Do you want to go out? Do you want to come in?” Cats want the door open, left open and for you to stand out of the way so it can see outside. :)

Their cat does not like the call of the wild…....

Cats going out isn’t much of a problem. If they hesitate at the door, a nudge with your foot help them make up their mind. Coming in is another story. Growing up, we had a solid front door with a small triangular window at the top. When the cat wanted to come in, she would climb up the screen and look in the little window. It was really wierd to see a cat face up in the window.

There are no cats mentioned in the Bible. I think that explains a lot.

How about not letting him go out at all
